Nasarawa State will represent the North-central zone at the forthcoming National Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria, YSFON, U-16 Super Six football tournament.

To achieve this feat, the State’s U-16 team defeated their counterparts from Benue State courtesy of a glorious freekick by Yusuf Musa 30 minutes into the final of the North-central zonal Championship decided at the Science School Football Field, Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, on Tuesday.

After playing out a 1-1 draw in their first meeting, Nasarawa went on to beat FCT, Abuja 1-0 before overpowering Benue in the final.

The National YSFON U-16 Super Six Tournament comes up in October this year in Bayelsa, South-South Nigeria.

Directors from the Nasarawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development led by Lawrence Shammah (Director of Sports) joined officials from the State YSFON Board headed by Suleiman Usman Bako, to witness the grand finale.
