More recognition has continued to come the way of the General Manager of Plateau United Football Club of Jos, Pius Henwan for his services to the state and humanity.
This time around , it was the turn of Turning Point Power Tabernacle Church, Jos who bestowed on him the 2022 Turning Point Icons and Achievers Global Awards for his achievement in Sports Administration and philanthropy.
General Overseer of the Turning Point Power Tabernacle Church, Jos, Bishop Solomon David Gadzama disclosed that Henwan was found worthy for the award in view of his track record of success after leading Plateau United to two league Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL titles and his service to humanity which has touched the lives especially that of the less-privileged positively.
Bishop Gadzama who described Henwan as as an experienced Sports administrator per excellence, stated that his leadership qualities have made Plateau United a household name not only in Nigeria Football , but also in the continent where they represented Nigeria twice in CAF inter Club Competitions in 2018, 2020 and are on the verge of doing so for the third time next month.
An elated Pius Henwan who expressed delight with the award, commended the church for the recognition, stressing that it will spur him to do more and appealed pray for the success of the team as the fly Nigeria’s flag in the CAF Champions League next month.
Many Nigerians who distinguished themselves in their various fields of human endeavor including two renowned Christian Cleric in Plateau State, Pastor Isah El-Buba and his spouse as well as Reverend Dunka Gomwalk also received award of excellence at the event.
