The Governor of Enugu State, Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has formally received the newly posted Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Enugu State Command at the Lion Building Enugu.

Governor Ugwuanyi who played host to the Commandant in his office welcomed Commandant Aloysius Udemadu Obiorah  with a charge to improve on the performance of the Corps in the State.

He said that the State is looking forward to a better service delivery by the Corps and called on the newly posted Commandant to galvanise his management team into action.

He promised that the State was ready for a robust partnership with the Corps  emphasizing that the State under his watch has been doing everything possible to ensure the security of lives and property of the people of the State.

He insisted that NSCDC must step up action to meet the challenges of the time
informing the  new State Commandant that the State has more responsibilities to hand over to the Corps but want to see more commitment on the side of the agency.

He regretted the State of insecurity in the Country and the State in particular and demanded for better intelligence gathering skill from security services to stem the tide of killings, kidnapping and other forms of violence in the State.

Commandant Obiorah had earlier informed the Governor that he was sent to the State by the Commandant General of the Corps, Dr. AHMED A. AUDI,  with an instruction to come and deliver on the mandate of the Corps.

The Commandant promised the State Chief Executive that he was ready to meet the expectations of the people of the State in service delivery.

“The Corps is known for integrity in service delivery and nothing short of that will be given to the good people of Enugu State”.

He however appealed to Governor Ugwuanyi to assist the Command with logistics as the duty of policing is highly challenging and demanding, promising that the Corps in the State was ready to synergise with other Security Agencies to make life more meaningful and leave the State better than he met it.

The Commandant also presented his letter of posting to the number one citizen of the State and assured him of a new era.
