Wealthy and good spirited individuals in Anambra state have been appealed to support the grassroots sports development efforts of YSFON in their communities.

The appeal was made by the Chairman, Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON), Anambra state chapter, Engr. Akonam Obiefuna in an interview with Newspathfinder in Awka recently.

Engr Akonam was reacting to the huge success of the recently concluded 2nd edition of Igwe Nanka Anambra YSFON U-17 Tournament.

He called on the wealthy individuals to support the upgrading of Primary and Secondary school playing fields within their towns to help YSFON meet the challenge of unearthing talents across the state.

According to the chairman, YSFON Anambra state is passionate to feed Anambra and Nigeria with talents in abundance but needs support.

“It is our desire to organize tournaments, competitions and events that will help us meet up and surpass our aims and targets”,

“We are engaging individuals, corporate organizations, traditional institutions, technocrats and all that can help us keep our youth engaged,

“With the passion and commitment on the side of YSFON officials, we can achieve all these and God helping us as well. I will like most of our wealthy individuals to help us overcome so that the heart desires of our young ones will be achieved.

Ozala Football Club Obosi emerged Champions of this year’s edition of the tournament. They defeated Hopeland FC, Nnewi  2-1 in the finals.
