With the roadmap of the Nigeria Football Federation election becoming clear and date in sight, the Congress of the football body has been called upon to work according to the tenets of statutes devoid of parochial sentiments.
The call was made by the Chairman, Enugu state Football Association, Barr. Anthony Okechikel Ugwu while speaking with Newspathfinder recently.
Barr. Ugwu who also called for a level playing ground for all in the election said his dream NFF is that which will build on the achievements of past administrations.
“My dream NFF is that which will build on the achievements of past administrations, learn from their past mistakes for the growth/ unity of congress and most importantly, for the development, advancement & growth of football in Nigeria”,
“My candid advice is for congress to work according to the tenets of statute devoid of parochial sentiments and to have a level playing ground for all”.
On the mistakes noticed in the outgoing administration which the incoming exco should address, Barr Ugwu said, “there must be establishment of communication between leadership and members to avoid unnecessary suspicion”,
“Moreso, interest of congress must supercede individual considerations”.
He described the two committees (Electoral And Appeals) instituted by the Congress as such made up of men of high social standing and proven integrity.
According to him, the stand of the South East in the forthcoming election is the protection of the interest of the region in the general scheme of things.
