Former African Boxing Champion Ngozika Ekwelum Down With Cancer, Seeks Help

Former African Boxing Union (ABU) Heavyweight Champion, Coach Ngozika Ekwelum is down with cancerous prostrate, other health complications.

He is seeking for asking for assistance from good spirited Nigerians for better medical attention.

Coach Ngozika Ekwelum, who excell­ed among his contemp­oraries in the entire Africa and Europe heavyweight competi­tions cannot afford the huge medical bills required for his recovery.

Ekwelum, residing in Awka, the Anambra State capital, is presently in dare need of resources for quality medicare.

He has spent millions undergoing series of surgeries but still bedridden, urinating blood, with swollen legs, bladder and body pains.

Government, family and friends have abandoned him to ‘rot.’ Even his landlord has thrown him out of their three bedrooms flat due to inability to pay.

For  record purpose, Ekwelum made wave in boxing in late 60s and 80s, recorded ab­out 31 bouts, and 186 rounds during which he won 17 (14 inside the limit­), lost 9 (5 inside the limit) and 5 dr­aw.
