Following the convincing 2-0 defeat of Fc Robo, the Chairman, Delta state football Association Mr Ken Nwaomucha has encouraged the Okowa girls to go for gold.

The former Chairman of Youth Sports Federation Of Nigeria,YSFON, Delta state Chapter, said Delta Queens fc has so far proved they are among the best team with a formidable squad in female football in Africa with their consistent performance in both the league and other completions.

“Go for Gold. We are proud of you girls for your performance so far”, he charged them

The retired professional footballer commended the effort of Coach Tosan Blankson and his Coaching crew and players for their resilience and concentration.

He also commended  the Delta state government and Chairman of sports Commission, Chief Tonobok Okowa for the supports to keep the girls so far.

“The final against Bayelsa Queens no doubt will be final with class”.

“The fact that Bayelsa Queens is our sisters club making it a south south derby, the Okowa ladies need to apply more skills, strength and focus against them in whatever venue the match maybe played”.

Chief Nwaomucha reminded them that football is all about timing and best use of chances.

On the road to the final Delta Queens demolished Casmog fc 10-0 to register her presence in the ongoing Aiteo  Cup before a 2-0 thrashing of Horney Badger Fc of Makudi to face Heartland Ladies in the semi final which ended 5-4 on penalty shootout after a goalless regulation time draw.
