Ahudiyannem Queens FC will be hoping to end their campaign at the Governor Douye Diri Women’s Pre-Season Football Tournament on a winning note when they face hosts Bayelsa Queens FC in the third-place match on Sunday, October 11, 2026.
The encounter, scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa, offers the young NWFL side an opportunity to round off their impressive outing against one of the established sides in Nigeria’s top-flight women’s football league.
Ahudiyannem Queens announced their arrival at the tournament in spectacular fashion, recording three consecutive victories against notable Premiership sides Nasarawa Amazons, Remo Queens and Rangers Ladies to finish top of Group B with nine points.
The remarkable run underlined the team’s competitive spirit and ability to challenge more experienced opponents, despite their status as a newly promoted side from the Nigerian Women’s Football League Championship.
However, their winning streak came to an end in their final group-stage fixture, where they suffered a 2–0 defeat to Rivers Angels, another heavyweight in the country’s women’s football scene.
The Queens subsequently faced Delta Queens in the semi-final, where they battled to a 1–1 draw before losing 4–3 in the penalty shootout, missing out on a place in the tournament final.
Despite the consecutive setbacks, Ahudiyannem Queens have another opportunity to demonstrate their resilience when they take on Bayelsa Queens for third place.
The fixture is expected to provide a stern test for the team while offering valuable match experience ahead of the new season. A victory would also provide a fitting conclusion to a tournament in which the newcomers have shown that they can compete against some of the country’s established women’s football clubs.
As preparations continue for Sunday’s encounter, the team will be looking to draw strength from the support and encouragement of their fans as they seek to finish their Yenagoa campaign on a positive note.
For Ahudiyannem Queens, the mission is clear: recover from the semi-final disappointment, rise to the challenge and return home with a podium finish.
