CHAN Eagles Escape With A 3-2 Win Over Gallant Mahanaim FC Ahead Ghana Encounter

The CHAN Eagles fought back from a 2-goal down to defeat Mahanaim FC of Abuja 3-2, in its first test match since they started camping.

The match was a friendly tune-up game  for the team ahead of CHAN Qualifier against Black Galaxies of Ghana.

The match took place at the newly refurbished training ground of the Moshood Abiola Stadium with AFCON winner Ogenyi Onazi featuring and had a good 45 minutes Presence in the game.

The Eagles conceded two early goals to the brilliance of Mahanaim FC Striker, Aliu Baba but found it’s way back through Akwa United’s Promise Amadi and Chidebere Nwobodo of Rangers Intl as the first half ended 2-2.

The Super Eagles handler, Salisu Yusuf made six changes at the start of the second half with Rivers United left back Ebube Duru heading home the winning goal for the Chan Eagles in the second half.

Assistant coach Kenedy Boboye in his post match reaction believed that his team will come good pointing out that they are work in progress.

Meanwhile former Lazio midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi explained that his reason for featuring in the friendly match for the Home base Super Eagles was to keep up and examine his level of fitness before he joins up with his club side in Europe.
