The executive secretary/CEO Anambra State Primary Health care development agency Dr Chioma Ezenyimulu said that Nigerians have embraced the a hope offered by the covid 19 vaccine which has led to a drastic decline of case’s Nationwide.
She informed that 27 million eligible Nigerians have so far been fully vaccinated representing 25percent of eligible population.
Dr Ezenyimulu enumerated the success recorded so far by Anambra state in the vaccine while delivering her speech at the flag off ceremony of the s.c.a.l.e.s 3.0 strategy for covid 19 mass vaccination at the primary health center mgbakwu Awka north local government Area of the state.
The event was put in place as a means to further cripple the potency in the spread of the disease in the state.
She made it clear that over 643.658 persons have been fully vaccinated against covid 19 in Anambra state.
The S.C.A.L.E.S 3.0. strategy of covid 19 mass vaccination was flagged off Nationwide on Monday August 8th 2022 which uses human centered demand generation to address the low covid 19 risk perception in the country
During the flag off campaign Governor Chukwuma Soludo represented by the director public health and disease control Anambra state ministry of health Dr Afam Anaeme called on stakeholders such as community leaders, church leaders to support the efforts of the government in properly educating the people on the need for covid 19 vaccine.
He promised that the state government will continue to give massive support to the covid 19 vaccination as it will last for only 3months.
In their separate speeches. Dr ogbonaya Omaha the state technical Assistant covid 19 vaccination, World Health organization Anambra state Rep. Mr shehu Muhammad and the Nigerian Red Cross society Anambra state chapter Engineer kingsley Okoye explained that the campaign will include other primary health interventions like checking people’s blood pressure,sugar level, nutritional level etc.
They therefore enjoined Ndi Anambra to take advantage of the vaccination and commended Governor soludo for his Sterling leadership especially in the area of health as the state had earlier qualified for the Basic Health Care provision Fund which is 1 percent of the consolidated revenue of the federation.
