Nasarawa Mourns Their Power Lifting Athlete Aliyu Mohammed

The sporting family of Nasarawa state was thrown into mourning mood with the news of the death of one their dedicated athletes, late Aliyu Mohammed.

Aliyu until his death was a para power lifting athlete with the state ministry of Sports and Youth Development.

Account to the statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the ministry, Mr Eche Amos, Aliyu was knocked down by a vehicle along Shabu-Lafia Express Road .

The statement read;

“It is with rude shock that we learnt about the death of one of our very committed para power-lifting athletes, Aliyu Mohammed, who was knocked down by a vehicle along Shabu-Lafia express road on Thursday, 18th August, 2022”,

“His commitment and dedication to the cause of the Ministry will be sorely missed”,

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his immediate family, loved ones, teammates and sports world”,

“We pray God to forgive his shortcomings and repose his soul in aljanna firdausi”,

“Equally, too, we wish Abdulgafar Mohammed (Para power-lifting athlete) who was also involved in the accident speedy recovery,
