Maiden Edition Of Karu Peace And Unity Cup For Governor Sule Kicks Off In December

All is now set for the commencement of the first edition of the Karu Peace and Unity Cup for Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule of Nasarawa State.

The competition which is wholly and jointly sponsored by Chief Philip Dada(Ajiyan Karu) and Chief Barr. Isaac Danladi(Danmoren Karu) is aimed at galvanizing support among youth of the Eleven Electoral Wards of Karu Local Government Area for the re-election of the Governor for a second term in office as the Country heads to the polls in 2023.

The competition is also aimed at giving back to the society as well as developing the game of football at the grassroots level.

According to one of the sponsors, Barr. Isaac Danladi, who is also the Chairman of Nasarawa United Football Club as well as Chairman, NPFL Club Owners’ Association and a prominent son of the Local Government, said all necessary logistics to ensure a seamless opening ceremony have been put in place by the Organizers.

He revealed that the State’s Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe, would declare the competition open on Thursday, 1st December, 2022, at the Science School Football Field, New-Karu by 4pm.

A total of 16 teams from the Eleven Wards are partaking in the two-week-long tournament which promises to be exciting, being the first of its kind in karu Local Government Area.

Jihasu FC of Keffin- Shanu/Baitti Electoral Ward takes on Karu Football Academy of Karu Electoral Ward in the opener today.
