Tony One Family Foundation, a Non-Governmental organisation based in Enugu, South East Nigeria, on Sunday displayed an extraordinary appreciation and support to Maureen Mmadu Kiddies Club.

Former Nigeria International, Maureen Mmadu floated the women football Academy in her efforts to encourage the girl girl child follow her dream of participation in sporting activities.

Coach Mmadu, a former Super Falcons midfielder and later Assistant Coach, floated the club in 2020 and only recently, took the 16-year-olds to a four-match training tour of Morocco.

During the tour, the Nigerian kids played four games, won one, drew one and lost two.

On return from the Morocco trip, they held a church thanksgiving service in Ibadan for a safe trip, participation and successful return without injury.

Consequently, as a mark of shrewd appreciation and encouragement for her selfless service, Tony One Family Foundation, on Sunday, deemed it appropriate to express their appreciation for her untiring efforts.

Tony Chidi Anyichie, the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of the Foundation, led a delegation to Mmadu’s residence at Nnewi to make the presentation.

Amongst the items the Foundation presented include 25 bags of rice and 40 pieces of t-shirts.

“This is our little way of appreciating her efforts in providing a better future for the young girls”, Tony Chidi Anyichie said.

“It’s not easy to bring these young girls together. So, we believe that she has set a good and commendable standard, hence we at Tony One Family Foundation thought it wise to come and say ‘well done for a good job’.

“Don’t relent in your efforts as posterity is keeping a good record of your commendable service to humanity”, Anyichie said.

An obviously elated Maureen emotionally responded by thanking the Foundation and promised to continue to do her best for a better girl child.

“I’m overwhelmed by your show of concern and encouragement.

“I’m very grateful. I believe this will push me further to do my best.

“Growing up, I never had the opportunity of being encouraged by my parents to achieve my sporting goals.

“That’s why I decided to provide the platform for these kids to take to their God given talents.

“And I’m more than grateful for your support. It’s a call for me to continue to do my best for humanity”, Mmadu summed up, rather emotionally.
