Nnewi United have sealed their place in the final of the 2022 edition of Tico/Select Preseason Tournament.

The Anaedo Lions humbled Golden United 3-0 in the first semi final decided Friday afternoon at the Legacy pitch, Enugu.

The second tier league side went in front in the early stages of the first half through Kelvin Akinmola.

After the break, determined Golden United poured out in numbers, encamping in the Lions den for a possible equaliser.

But the Ben Okaro lads fell back deep on their superior experience to curtail the incursions of the ambitious non league side.

Yahaya doubled Nnewi United’s advantage on 82 minutes only for Ohiri to make it 3-0 on the death.

Nnewi United will wait for the winner of the second semi final between Rangers and winners between Apex Krane FC/Ingas FC for the final billed for Sunday.
