Two Vigilante Operatives In Police Net Over Rape Attempt On Minor In Anambra

Two Vigilante operatives name (withheld) have been  arrested and handed over to the police at Okpoko Police Division, Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State for conspiring and attempting to rape a minor in Nkutaku area of Okpoko.

The twelve year old victim who hails from Guyuk Local Government Area of Adamawa State but lives at Obodoukwu Road near Atani Road was said to have been dragged by the two vigilante operatives while accompanying a fellow co-tenant,a male of the same age to lock-up her mother’s shop which is located in the same area.

According to a police source at Okpoko Police Division, while the two minors were walking along their street to lock-up the shop, the two vigilante operatives fully armed with matchetes and pump action guns accosted them at about 10:pm in the night, intimidating and subjecting them to instant fear.

It was, however, gathered that after taking them to an abandoned structure at Obodoukwu Road, the little boy was asked to go home and bring one thousand naira for his bail over wandering at that time of the night with the purpose of leaving them alone with the helpless girl in order to accomplish their mission.

However,luck ran out on the randy security operatives when the father,Mr.Lee Bibamde,a trader at Atani Road returned from the day’s business and asked the whereabouts of her daughter with no tangible response and he decided to inquire from neighbours.

Our correspondent gathered that it was at this juncture that the boy who who was sent home to bring money for his bail by the randy security operatives returned to their residence and narrated how they were hurriedly taken away by the operatives which prompted the girl’s father with the assistance of another vigilante man and some elders to the scene and saw his daughter fully naked.

According to the victim’s  father,Mr.Bibamde, “my daughter was pantless .They had also succeeded in removing her tight.Infact,she was fully naked.

He said that the other operative was somewhere keeping watch for his colleague so that he could take his own turn of my daughter from the confession made by them.

However, the management and Commander of the security outfit where the suspects worked are not taking it easy as the two vigilante men have since been sacked.

A source within the police said that the Commander of the vigilante outfit did a wonderful job by arresting the suspects and subsequently handing them over to the police for prompt action.

Our source further disclosed that the matter has been charged to court and may be called up on Thursday this week.
