The Dean, Faculty of Arts, Prof. Greg Obiamalu has pleaded with the matriculating students to tolerate one another and be mindful of how their activities will impact on others who are involved in other activities.
Prof. Obiamalu rendered the plea while advising the matriculating students on Friday during the occasion of the 2021/22 Matriculation Ceremony held at Faculty of Arts.
Prof. Obiamalu stated that faculty of Arts is a diverse one and their activities are diverse as well. He said that there are people in the performing arts whose training involve lots of practicals and rehearsals while for some, theirs require deep thinking and reflections but they all share same building.
He noted that this has been a source of conflict in the faculty but will soon be resolved with the ongoing construction of a new building for the performing Arts Departments(Music & Theatre).
He said that the faculty is referred to as the number one faculty due to their diligence in carrying out teaching responsibilities, submission of results and appraisals and in many other activities in the university.
He thereby beckoned on the freshers to imbibe the good qualities the faculty is known for, by avoiding indecent dressing, stealing, cultism and other vices amongst students.
Prof. Obiamalu congratulated the matriculating students and wished them a successful journey in the University without hitches and obstacles.
