In a condolence message signed by the media officer of Nasarawa United, Mr Eche Amos, the management of the club expressed shock over the news of the young man’s death.

The former Enyimba FC, Katsina FC and Sunshine FC player was described as a phenomenal figure in Nigeria club football.

The message read;

We are devasted to learn about the sudden demise of one of our former players, Chinedu Udechukwu.

Information reaching us from reliable sources said the attacker whose contract with us expired at the end of the 2021/22 Nigeria Professional Football League Season slumped and died in Jos, Plateau State, on Wednesday, 21st December, 2022, after complaining of severe headache.

“Edu”, as he was fondly called, was a young man full of life and great dreams.

He was also a phenomenal figure as far as club football is concerned in Nigeria having also played for the likes of two-time CAF Champions League winners, Enyimba FC of Aba; Katsina United FC and Sunshine Stars FC of Akure.
