Organisers Unveil Rangers Coach Ahead Tico/Select Preseason Kick Off

Organisers of the 4th edition of the Ifeanyi Ekwueme Tico/Select Preseason Tournament have unveiled Rangers Technical Adviser, Abdul Maikaba, Sports Pathfinder reports.

The brief unveiling ceremony took place in Enugu on Thursday.

During there ceremony, introduced by the,organisers to add colour to this year’s edition of the tournament, a pleased Maikabe confirmed Rangers participation in the tournament.

Maikaba was unveiled as one of the legends of the tournament.

The 2022 edition of the annual tournament, the fourth in the series, will kick off October 20 in Enugu and Asaba.

Fourteen teams, comprising seven NPFL clubs, will slug it,out for the giant trophy at stake.

The tournament will hold simultaneously in the two centers with seven teams each.

Asaba is,venue for group A comprising Rivers United, Abia Warriors, newly promoted Bayelsa United, Nnewi United, Apex Krane, Lamry FC and Ingas Football Club.

Maikaba’s Rangers will sit back at their Enugu base,to welcome Oriental Brothers, Enyimba, Plateau United, Niger Tornadoes, Excellent FC, A&A Kiviasennus Palvelut FC and Golden United Football Academy.

Maikaba said at the thrilling unveiling ceremony that he’s pleased with the quality of teams taking part in the tournament, adding that it will give his Flying Antelopes the needed test ahead the 2022/2023 NPFL season.

“I’m impressed with the teams taking part in the tournament.

“I believe it will help our preparation for the coming season.

“I’m happy with the honour and recognition accorded to me by the organisers.

“I commend them for the positive innovations in the tournament”, Maikaba said.
