Solution FC maintained their 100 percent home record in the league as they saw off Ogbomosho side, Crown FC by a lone goal in one of the match day six fixtures of the ongoing 2023/24 Nigeria National League (NNL) Conference B.

The much anticipated fixture against an experienced league side played on Saturday, 23rd December 2023 at the Awka City Stadium saw Coach Uche Okagbue led technical crew making three changes to the side that played on match day five against Ijebu United as Charles Egbe, Christopher Biahwo and Solomon Ubong made the cut ahead of Best Albangbee, Damian Nwankwo and Charles Onwuchekwa respectively.

The visitors made the first attempt at goal and came close to scoring as Adekunle Mojeed nearly missed the target through a header connecting with Christopher Michael’s corner kick in the 12th minute of the game. Skipper David Okoye of Solution FC responded well with a similar opportunity this time from a team link up play between Charles Egbe and Daniel Okpodi but was unlucky as his headed effort went wide off the mark from Okpodi’s inviting cross into the box.

The lanky Okpodi for the Solution Boys side netted a glaring opportunity in the 32nd minute after he befuddled Ugochukwu Anozie in defense for the Ogbomosho side in a swift team counter attacking play whereas he should have teed a well positioned David Okoye and Solomon Ubong in the visitor’s box as the half came to a close.

The much anticipated curtain raiser came in the 58th minute through forward Daniel Okpodi who stepped up from 12 yards to convert a spot kick for a deserved lead after Kanan Ogunjobi had hitherto harked down diminutive Solomon Ubong inside the box.

Solution FC shot stopper Chinedu Nwabueze was alert as he made himself big to deny Adekunle Mojeed in the 72nd minute as the home side held on to secure all three points.

Solution FC who are now fourth on the Conference B NNL league log with 9 points from five matches will next face Giant Brillas of Enugu for match day seven come the New Year on 6th January, 2024.
