2023 Team Nigeria For Bayern Munich World Youth Cup Emerge In Enugu

Ten players who will fly the flag of Nigeria at the 2023 Bayern Munich Youth Cup have been selected.

The players were selected after a two day Bayern Munich Nigeria Youth Cup competition held at the UNEC Legacy pitch, Enugu.

The players are Muhammed Danlami, midfielder of Team Combine, Muhammed Sadiq , striker, FC Ablaze, Saviour Mathias, midfield, Abuja Select, Ogbodo Chidozie, striker of Enugu based Purple Krown FC and Onuorah Divine, Goalkeeper, Purple Krown FC.

Others are trio of Bashir Idris, defender, Muhammed Mustapha, midfielder and Suleiman Abubakar, defender of FC  Hearts, Ifeanyi Anthony, defender of Enugu Selected and Aman Sabiu  defender of Kano based R&K Academy.

In the finals, Lagos Select defeated R&K Football Academy of Kano.

Speaking after the selection exercise, the Nigerian Director, Bayern Munich Youth Cup, Mr Victor Edeh advised the players to see their selection as a start of a new journey.

“This is a start of a new journey. It’s end of one but the start of the new journey”,

“We are looking forward to sorting them out with immigration and the visas and organizing a training camp for them, preparing them for the defense of the Bayern Munich Youth Cup world title”,

“That’s the theme, that’s our objective and l am happy for all of them”.

He thanked all the other participants describing the standard of the competition as very high.

Mr Edeh said his foundation (VOE Foundation) will keep an eye on all the participants.

“Hopefully through our numerous projects we will be able to find a place to help them realize their dreams”.

The 2023 edition of the Bayern Munich Youth Cup will come up in October, in Germany.

Nigeria is the defending champion.
