Director of Football of Nnewi United, Olisa Onuchukwu, has given indication that his team will use the Tico/Select preseason tournament to name their final squad for the 2022/2023 season, Sportspathfinder.com.ng reports.

Olisa spoke ahead the 4th edition of the Annual tournament holding in Asaba and Enugu October 2 through 12th.

“We have printed down the size of the team after the conclusion of the 2021/2022 season”, the former Bochum of Germany forward said.

“New players are coming in as we commence preparation this weekend.

“We’ll further reduce the number going into the Tico/Select preseason tournament.

“And after that, we name our final team going into the 2022/2023 season”, Onuchukwu explained.

Nnewi United are in group A of the preseason tournament with venue at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, with Rivers United, Abia Warriors and Apex Krane amongst others.

Apex Krane of Asaba is sponsored by Tonobok Okowa, Delta State Sports Commission Chairman who is also President of Athletic Federation of Nigeria, AFN.
