As the Nigeria Football Federation’s elective congress draws nearer, Chairman of Nasarawa United Football Club, Barr. Isaac Danladi(Dan Moren Karu), has said his full support is with the Chairman of Nasarawa State Football Association and Nationwide League One, Alhaji Alkali Mohammed(Sarkin Kasuwan Lafia) who is contesting for the post of Executive Member, North-Central, into the Board of the Nigeria Football Federation.

In an exclusive interview with Nasarawa United Media on Monday, Barr. Danladi said;

“Indeed, the NFF Congress is around the corner, and a lot of stakeholders have expressed interest to contest for one position or the other”,

“Interestingly, too, one of our own and son of Nasarawa State, Alkali Mohammed, is vying for the post of Executive Board Member representing the North-Central Zone”,

“The Chairman of the Nasarawa State Football Association does possess all the requisite credentials to contest for that position having completely changed the face of grassroots football in Nasarawa State and Nigeria as a whole through his numerous innovative programmes”,

“He is currently heading the largest football league in Nigeria, and probably in Africa, with over two hundred clubs playing in the Nationwide League One”,

“You can attest that we had not had it this good in the history of this country’s grassroots football as we are presently enjoying under the leadership of Alh. Alkali Mohammed”,

“Also, he is a three-star general in the Nigeria Football Federation, and one of the few individuals with such portfolio in the entire NFF hierarchy”,

“What this means is that, he has been a State Chairman of the FA for three consecutive terms, and this is owing to his marvelous performance and ability to deliver beyond expectations”, he enumerated.

Barr. Danladi who also heads the Nigeria Professional Football League’s Club Owners’ Association, distanced himself from the intra-state relationship he shares with the contestant as yardstick for his endorsement.

“People might think it’s because of my State’s affinity with Alkali that warranted my support for him. Far from that. I am friends with all the other contestants from the Zone and still maintain healthy relationships with them”,

“But I think Alkali has paid his dues, and has repeatedly demonstrated his capacity and capability to etch his name in gold whenever he is given the opportunity to”,

“His roles and contributions in the NFF’s Executive Board and different Sub-Committees are visible to the blind, loud to the deaf and felt by everyone, and the only way to see more of his impeccable track records is to accord him a higher task, as whatsoever is worth is doing, is worth doing well”, he said.

Alkali Mohammed assumed office as Chairman of the Nasarawa State Football Association in 2011, and is currently enjoying his third term in that position.

The election into various positions of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, is expected to hold on Friday, 30th September, 2022, in Benin City, Edo State.
