A Liberian Second Division football club, Gardnersville FC, have signed promising Nigerian sensation, Amarachi Ekeleihem from SAJEWA FC of Lafia in Nasarawa State.

The player was among a few talents discovered during a scouting programme co-organized by SAJEWA FC and JAF SC last month at Agwatashi, and instantly caught the attention of his present employers who contracted him for two years (2022-2024).

Shortly after his unveiling, the aggressive midfielder who can also play wide, wrote on his personal Facebook page, Eke Clinton: “A new chapter has begun.

“Oluwa(God) is involved.

“Gardnersville Football Club.

“Congratulations to me.”

The 22-year-old Amarachi will hope to bring his diminutive instinct to play in the Liberian Orange National Second tier league.

Gardnersville FC is the feeder team to LISCR FC which currently plays in the Liberia Football Association’s top Division League and Amarachi will strive to upgrade to the main team in a short period.

His new club is based in Gardnersville, Somalia Drive, Monrovia, Liberia.

The country is known to have produced the only African to win the FIFA World Best Footballer of the Year and Ballon D’Or winner in 1995, in George Oppong Weah, who is currently the President of the Republic of Liberia.
