Rangers G.M/CEO, Barrister Amobi Ezeaku, Friday, December 22, 2023, became the first footballer to score a goal in the newly renovated and regressed Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, ‘The Cathedral’ as he blasted an unstoppable volley past Detan Ogundare off an assist from Chukwudi Nwaodu.

The very entertaining practice match that had the probable take on the possible in-coach Fidelis Ilechukwu’s morning training session was heading for a stalemate before Ezeaku, who was playing for the probable team broke the deadlock to the admiration of the few fans of the club that came to watch the session.

An elated Ezeaku after the training session, said, “The goal I scored today, is very special to me and I strongly believe that it’s a sign of great things to happen to our team this season”,

“We are happy to be back at our hallowed ground, ‘The Cathedral’ and we urge our fans to come out in their numbers on Thursday, December 28, 2023, as we host 3SC in a match day 16, NPFL 2023/2024 fixture inside the lush green turf of Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu”.
