Anambra Police Arrest Four Armed Robbery Suspects, Recover Stolen Items

Police Command in Anambra state says its Operatives attached to Neni in conjunction with the local security have arrested four armed robbery suspects terrorizing the people of the people of the area.

A Statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga says the susoects are Chukwubike Anieto from Agulu, Chukwuemerie Ike also from Agulu, Chidera Muo,from Neni and Chukwuma Isreal all residing at Umuezeani village Akwaeze.

The release says that the Operatives recovered one berreta pistol, three motorcycles, one axe, three matchets, one police belt, one Sumec generator, thirteen different brands of phones and other incriminating items from the four suspects.

Mr Ikenga explains that upon interrogation, the police operatives found out that the gang attacked a police constable, dispossessed him of his personal belonging along Umukabia Okofia village, Neni.

The gang members were also recently caught in the act when they attempted to rob a lady of her belonging along Okofia village, Neni.

It says the Commissioner of Police, Mr Echeng Echeng while charging the operatives to sustain the tempo on weeding out the criminal elements in the state, assured members of the public that the confidence reposed on the police would not be taken for granted.

He stressed that all the suspects would be arraigned in court on the conclusion of the investigations.
