Senator Umeh Shares His Anambra Central Dreams With UNIZIK Community

The Labour Party candidate for the upcoming Anambra Central Senatorial district elections billed for February 2022 on Tuesday, 6th September 2022 interfaced with members of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University academic community on his plans towards enhancing education if elected during the upcoming polls.

Speaking during the meeting with the Staff of Nnamdi Azikiwe University on Tuesday, Senator Victor Umeh  emphasized the need for the Academic Community to support the Labour Party in the coming General Elections pointing out that the Party has the solution to Nigeria’s problems including the challenges of the Academic Institutions in the Country.

Umeh posited that the Labour Party Presidential Flag-bearer and former Governor of the state, H.E. Chief Peter Obi is on cause to deploy his far-reaching experience in governance and administration in correcting issues pertaining to malgovernance in the country, insecurity, creating jobs for the largely unemployed youths and fixing the country’s failing economy generally as well as permanently resolving the problems leading to industrial actions by the academic institutions and Nigerian workers generally.

Senator Umeh further urged them to support Mr Peter Obi for President, himself—Senator Victor Umeh for Senate in Anambra Central and Prof. Oby Lilian Orogbu, former Dean Faculty of Social Sciences who is contesting for the House of Representatives in Awka North and South Federal Constituency including the Party’s House of Assembly Candidate in Awka South I Constituency and an alumnus of the institution Hon. Engr. Henry Mbachu who was also present.

On her part, the former Dean Faculty of Management Sciences and the Labour Party Candidate for Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Prof. Orogbu stated that she is in the race to make a difference as a scholar who has seen it all in the field of academic as a teacher, researcher and administrator.

Prof. Orogbu stated that Nigeria needs leaders who are enlightened and familiar with the challenges affecting their communities and the larger society.

According to her, Labour Party is the right party that strive to make a remarkable change in governance through servant leadership, accountability and policies that will aid the socioeconomic development of the nation.

The meeting held at Mr. Smith Lounge in Awka saw over 250 members of the University Community in attendance.
