Nigerian National League (NNL) club Aspire FC Adazi-Ani is set to participate in the 2022 Super 8 Championship.

The 2022 Super 8 Championship which is a Pre-season competition organized by the Nationwide League One (NLO) is aimed at aiding football club sides to prepare for the upcoming 2022/23 football season.

The Super 8 Championship is expected to hold from Monday, 3rd October to Saturday, 8th October 2022 at the Legacy pitch of the National Stadium Surulere, Lagos State.

The participating clubs are Kun Khalifa FA, Imo State; FC Ebedei Ijebu Ode, Ogun State; Aspire FC Adazi-Ani, Anambra State; Madiba FC, Lagos State; Police Baretta FC, Gombe State; Junior Danburam Daura FC, Katsina State; Smart City FC, Lagos State and Mailantarki Care FC, Gombe State.

Aspire Football Club of Adazi-Ani had earlier on in the month of September gained promotion to the second tier of Nigerian club football after defeating Essien Ayi FC of Calabar 1-0 in the NNL qualification play-offs held at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi.

Aspire FC is owned by Chief Dr. Emeka Okeke who has continued to redefine football administration in the state with the initiative of ‘My Anambra Football’ which gave birth to the maiden edition of ‘My Anambra Football’ Super 8 tournament held in 2021 and won by GP World FA of Nnewi.

The Adazi-Ani born former Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA) also bankrolled the first professional football coaching clinic for the South East zone in the mould of the 2022 five-day NLO/Berackiah Coaching clinic held in February 2022 for Nationwide League One clubs in the zone with the aim of capacity building for coaches.

The youthful human resource manager and human capital developer also brought home the 2022 edition of FC Bayern Munich Youth Cup Nigeria tournament held in April 2022 with 20 under-16 Nigerian teenage footballers expected to take part in the football trials billed for Germany later in the year during the anticipated FC Bayern Munich Global youth cup tournament.
