The coach of the Nigerian Champions Enyimba Football Club, Finidi George has said that the Aba warlords are in Morocco with a different mentality.
Coach Finidi who spoke during a pre match press conference in Morocco said he is confident his boys will get a good result in the second leg quarter finals encounter against Wydad Casablanca.
He said that although the game would be a tough one considering the home loss, his boys are wired to win.
Some days ago we played a game in Nigeria, it was not the result that we expected. We had a couple of chances to have scored so that the game would have been much easier for us but that didn’t happen. So we lost the match “,
“We are here with different mentality to see how we can get a good result, make sure we score a goal as quick as possible and take it from there”,
“We know it is not going to be an easy match but we are here for the battle. We don’t have anything to lose at this point in time”.
Speaking on the travelling situation that that hindered the team’s scheduled arrival in Morocco and led to the postponement of the match, coach Finidi said the team is not thinking about that.
“We are here not thinking about the travel situations we had. We are even happy that we had yesterday to rest and prepare for the game”,
” So the travel situation, that is by the way. The rest we had was enough to prepare the team mentally. Our focus now is the game. It is going to be a difficult game for both sides. We are here to win. We know they are a very good side but we believe in our capacity”.
Coach Finidi said his team will not be intimidated by the strong fan base of Wydad Casablanca as they will be focused on the game.
“They have a very big fan base and good support, we have watched them. But like I said, we will be focused on the game. We will not be focused on what the supporters will do for their own”,
“As a player you play in different stadiums, the support is always different. Wydad definitely have huge support at home here we know that. We are prepared for that “,
“Like l told my players, you have to forget the noise outside and focus on the game. It is 11 against 11, if we do our best definitely we smile at the end of the day”,
“We have one objective here, we want to win. It’s football, it’s 90 minutes. We would do our best to make sure we get the best result”.
“We know it is a difficult game. They already won in Nigeria. If they can score in Nigeria, we can do the same here. We will see what happens in 90 minutes”,
