Member NFF technical Committee and Chairman of Katsina state football Association, Aminu Kurfi paid an unannounced visit to Real Sociadad of Spain and Super Eagles striker, Sadiq Umar at his home in Spain, where he is currently recuperating from a serious knee injury.

The 25-year-old Nigerian player picked up a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament injury in his team’s 2-1 loss at Getafe in the Spanish La Liga on Sunday September 11 and has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

News of the injury left his fans devastated following his big money move from Almeria.

Speaking in his capacity as a member of the NFF technical Committee, Kurfi said that the Nigeria football federation NFF and indeed the government and people of Nigeria are with Sadiq in prayers, hoping that he will bounce back stronger from this setback to do what he knows how to do best, which is scoring goals.

Dan Arewa or Balele as he is fondly called by his admirers thanked Allah, the most merciful,  for giving him the grace to embark on the journey.

“I have come to pay a visit to our brother who got injured during a football match. The whole football family in Nigeria are praying for you to return after this setback”,

“Your fans around the world are also eager to see you bounce back stronger and better. The Nigeria football federation and the government of the federal republic of Nigeria also send their prayers at this time as we all appreciate your dedication and patriotism to the nation at all time”.

The former chairman of Katsina United football Club also used the occasion to thank the manager of Sadiq Umar, for his support to the player at this difficult period of his career, saying that he has not seen such a friendly and caring manager in all his years in football.

Sadiq was signed from Almería near the end of the transfer window and scored on his debut as Sociedad drew 1-1 with Atlético Madrid at the beginning of September.
