The Enugwu -Ukwu community, Anambra state has condemned the 9th September 2022 fatal attack on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s convoy which led to different levels of fatalities.
Indigenes of Anambra state were jolted by the attack which took place near Nkwo Enugwu Ukwu Sunday evening.
The community in a statement issued after their meeting signed by the Deputy Traditional Prime Minister, Chief Clem Nwafor and former President General Comrade Bonny Ozo Nkwuaku expressed shock at the incident.
The community while condoling with families of those that died enjoined citizens to observe three days fast beginning from today 13th September to 15 September, 2022.
The statement read;
1. Enugwu-Ukwu Community heard, with great shock, the September 11, 2022, news of fatal attack by gunmen along Enugu/Onitsha old road close to Nkwo Market, Enugwu-Ukwu.
2. We condole with the families of those that died in the attack including civilians and personnel of security agencies.
While we pray for the repose of their souls, we also send our sympathy to Senator Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Uba who survived the attack, and pray for the quick recovery of those who sustained injuries in the attack.
3. We hereby enjoin all Enugwu-Ukwu citizens and others to observe three days of prayer and fasting for the dead and Divine intervention from Tuesday, 13/09/22 to Thursday 15/09/22.
4. Lastly, we call on the security agencies and Government to get to the root of the matter and bring the perpetrators of this dastardly act to book.
