Athletes and accompanying officials of Nasarawa State who participated at the Maiden LMK Badminton Championship held from Thursday, 25th to 27th August, 2022, at the Indoor Hall of the Kwara State Sports Complex, Ilorin, have returned safely to Lafia, the State Capital.

The competition was put together by the Chief Executive Officer of LMK Sports Kits Outfit and veteran Badminton player, Abdulfatah Salaudeen, who said that the idea of the Championship was borne out of his desire to give back to the society.

Team Nasarawa athletes gallantly bowed out of the tournament at the quarter finals stage as they lost their Male and Female Singles and Doubles’ events to their opponents.

However, for his outstanding performance, Cyprian Sunday Osabo was recognised by officials as Longest Rally of the tournament.

Coach Yakubu Obala Usman led the Nasarawa State Team to the Championship.

Kwara State emerged overall best team at the Championship.

Over 84 players from fifteen States of the Federation took part in the three-day event.
