Solution FC concluded the 2024/2025 Nigeria National League (NNL) season with a thrilling 3-1 victory over host team Rovers FC in the season finale held at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar, Cross River State. The win marked a satisfying end to the campaign for Solution FC.

The technical crew led by Gabriel Ezema made just two changes to the side that drew against Sporting Lagos FC. Stephen Etta and Divine Victor leapfrogged Chidera Okafor and Christian Ahamefula respectively in the starting berth.

Both sides began the contest seeking for a win to end the season on a blissful note, the game took a twist when the Centre Referee served Chibueze Oputa the marching orders for a second bookable offense in the 36th minute. The home side capitalized on the numerical strength to punish the Solution Boys through Etete Okon’s belter outside the box as they took the lead into the break.

Twenty minutes to the end of normal time, Chukwuemeka Oyieke restored parity capitalizing on a defensive gaffe in Rover’s backline to take the game to a nervy ending still with a man down. There was respite for the Solution Boys when the Centre Referee in the 83rd minute dismissed Umo Hogan for a second bookable offense to open up the game with both sides even in numbers.

Five minutes from time, Valentine Ugwu produced a moment of sheer brilliance to give his side a deserved lead. At the dead of the game, substitute Chukwuemeka Okeke poked home in a goal mouth scramble from a swift team counter attacking play to seal the win for the Anambra side.
