Ifeanyi Ekwueme U-17 Football Tourney Gets August Date

All is set for the Ifeanyi Ekwueme U-17 Football Tournament billed to kick off in Ughelli, Delta State, Nigeria from the 1st to 5th of August.

The tournament which is dedicated to showcasing talented young footballers under the age of 17 aims to provide them with a platform to develop their skills and gain valuable experience.

During the tournament, teams from across Nigeria, will compete against each other in a highly competitive and thrilling football extravaganza.

The tournament will not only focus on the players’ talents but also encourage sportsmanship and fair play.

The Ifeanyi Ekwueme U-17 Football Tournament is named after Nigerian football legend and Enyimba FC Sporting Director, Ifeanyi Ekwueme, who is known for his outstanding contributions to Nigerian football.

The organizers want to use the tournament to inspire young players to strive for excellence and follow in Ekwueme’s footsteps.

Ughelli, Delta State, has been chosen as the host city due to its vibrant football culture and the presence of quality football facilities.

The location will provide an ideal setting for the tournament, allowing players to showcase their skills in front of passionate football enthusiasts.

The 2024 edition of the Ifeanyi Ekwueme U-17 Football Tournament promises to be a thrilling event, filled with intense matches, stunning goals, and incredible talent on display.

Football fans from across Nigeria and beyond are eagerly anticipating the tournament to witness the potential future stars of Nigerian football.

Ifeanyi Ekwueme represented the Super Eagles 14 times during his playing days, the former midfielder is known for playing for clubs like NEPA FC, Jasper United FC, Polonia Warsaw, Widzew Łódź, Wisła Płock, Aris Saloniki, AS Veria, Unia Janikowo, Warta Poznań, Znicz Pruszków and LZS Piotrówka all in Poland and Greece.

The organizers enjoin football enthusiasts, stakeholders to mark their calendars and move to Ughelli from the 1st to 5th of August 2024 for an unforgettable youth football festival at the Ifeanyi Ekwueme U-17 Football Tournament.
