Emififen Yolanda Pinnick, the 10-year-old daughter of renowned Nigerian sports administrator, Amaju Melvin Pinnick, delivered a stunning performance at the inaugural World School Games Olympia 2026, winning multiple medals.

The fear solidifies her status as a rising young star in global school sports.

Organised as the flagship event of the World School Games series and hosted at the world-class Aspire Zone Stadium in Doha, Qatar, the three-day multisport festival brought together promising young athletes from elite international schools to compete in athletics, football and more.

Competitions were held across age groups, providing a world-stage platform for youth talent to excel.

Emififen’s landmark achievements include:

Gold Medal — 60 metres sprint (U13 athletics)

Gold Medal — 4×200m relay

Gold Medal — Football (team competition)

Silver Medal — Shot Put

Representing St. Saviour’s School, Ikoyi, Emififen’s performances helped showcase not only her individual athleticism and versatility but also her leadership on the field and track.

Amaju Melvin Pinnick, a respected figure in African and global football governance—former President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and current board member of the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA)—expressed pride in his daughter’s achievements. Pinnick, whose own leadership has been widely recognised for elevating Nigerian sport and advocating for broader infrastructure development, welcomed Emififen’s success as a testament to discipline, determination and the right nurturing environment.

The World School Games Olympia 2026 was launched to create a global platform where student-athletes can compete, learn and forge international friendships while representing their schools and countries, and this year’s edition drew participants from over 30 schools across seven countries.

The World School Games Olympia is a premier international school sports festival that encompasses athletics, football and swimming, offering youth competitors the opportunity to showcase their skills in world-class venues. The 2026 edition marked its first staging in Doha, featuring under-11, under-13 and under-15 age categories.
