Yobe Desert Stars FC is set to refocus on their upcoming encounter against Doma FC after their 0-0 draw in the opening match of the ongoing NNL Super 8 playoff in Asaba, Delta state.

Yobe Desert Stars FC in the Northern Conference battle began their NNL25 Super 8 Playoff campaign with a goalless draw against Barau fc of Kano State

The match was super energetic with both teams giving it their all in pursuit of victory. Both teams generated some promising opportunities, but ultimately couldn’t capitalize on them – a harsh reality that often comes with the beautiful game.

Speaking after the game, Yobe Desert Stars head coach, Sallau Naira, said the team showed effort and will keep working hard saying that his boys will get better and stronger.

“It was a tough game. We had chances but didn’t score. We must stay focused and get better before the next match. I believe the boys will come back stronger”,

“Our target now is to go against our next opponent with determination and get the desired result that will push our dream of NPFL promotion “,

“With more hard work and better finishing, the Desert Stars can still reach our goal and proceed to NPFL25/26”, coach Naira said.

Yobe Desert Stars will face Doma United FC in their next match on Monday, 7th July 2025. This game is very important to both teams as they continue to fight for promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL25/26).
