Wikki Tourists Technical Adviser, Coach Abdul Maikaba has remained upbeat despite the team settling for a goalless draw in their opening game against Doma FC in the NNL Super 8 playoff.

Speaking after the game, Coach Maikaba acknowledged the need for improvement but remained optimistic.

He described the encounter between the two Northern Conference giants as a tough one.

“It was a tough opener, We created chances but couldn’t convert. The most important thing now is to stay focused and prepare better for the next match. I’m confident the boys will bounce back stronger,” Maikaba said.

Wikki Tourists FC began their campaign at the NNL25 Super 8 Playoff with a hard-fought draw against Doma United on the opening day of action in Asaba.

The match was a closely contested affair, with both teams showing determination and discipline missing numerous scoring opportunities, but neither side could break the deadlock as it ended goalless

Wikki Tourists will now shift their attention to a crucial second fixture against Barau FC scheduled for Monday 7th July 2025.

Victory will be vital as the Tourists Continues its quest for promotion back to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
