Philanthropist, Otti Commissions Road Projects, 20 Houses In Anambra, Imo States

In his relentless commitment to better the lives of the poor and the needy in the society, an illustrious son of Umuchu Community Chief Abraham Ikechukwu Otti has constructed roads, and built 20 houses for 20 indigent persons from different communities in Aguata Council Area and beyond.

Chief Otti also distributed food items worth millions of Naira to the Indigents for their Christmas festivities, including a bag of rice, 5 cartons of Indomie Noodles, 2 mattresses, and a cheque of one Million Naira to each of the twenty beneficiaries of new homes.

Commissioning the projects, Chief Otti, represented by the Chairman, Achalla Village, Umuchu, Nze Chimezie Ikeh, said the gesture was simply Chief Otti’s way of alleviating suffering and eradicating poverty in the society.

He charged the beneficiaries to find solace in their new homes, make judicious use of the money to upgrade their lives, and become more functional members of the society.

Speaking at the event, the traditional ruler of Umuchu, HRH Igwe Godson Ezechukwu, represented by the Palace Secretary, Prof. Echezona Ifejirika extolled Chief Abraham Otti for his empowerment programme for the poor, which he said would not only make life more meaningful to recipients, but will also take the youths out of the streets.

The list of the beneficiaries include: Mrs Alice Okeke from Achalla Umuchu; Mrs Evelyn Nnajieme from Ibughubu Umuchu; Mr Jude Ezeabasili from Umuori Ugwuakwu Umuchu; Mrs Rita Ezenwa from Umubilo Amanasaa Umuchu; Mr. Philip Agupusi from Umuikpa Umugama village, Umuchu; Mr. Joseph Ezenwamma from Umuezenwakpadoro Amanasaa Umuchu, and Mr Samuel Ezechukwu from Umuejesi Ozara-Akukwa Umuchu.

Others were: Mrs Gloria Udeh from Umungada Village Umuomaku; Mr Jude Uduafor from Ubaha Village, Amesi; Mr. Bartholomew Ezenwankwo from Umuoru Village, Uga; Mr. Ifeanyi Onwumere from Obinabo village Nkpologwu; and Mr. Romanus Okpalaogu from Ohueri village Akpo.

Also gifted were Mrs Uchechukwu Ezeife from Ihuowere Eziagu village, Aguluezechukwu; Mr. Peter Egemba from Aku village, Ezinifite Aguata; Mr. Ephraim Okeke Agbasi from Umuohia village, Oraeri, Mr. Gilbert Ezejiofor from Ekwulu village, Umuona; Mrs Ngozi Asimundu from Umuigwe Eziakpu village, Ikenga and Mrs Francisca Offor from Mgbakwu village, Achina.

From Imo State, Mrs Esther Obiagwu who hails from Umuokwara village, Akokwa and Mrs Fidelia Ezeoke from Alaike village, Umualaoma, both in Ideato North LGA, Imo State also benefited.

The beneficiaries whose joy knew no bounds expressed happiness with Chief Otti’s magnanimity and prayed God to protect and guide him while pledging to use the money given to them responsibly.

The event was witnessed by the Chairman, Aguata Council Area, Dr. Chibueze Oforbike; the traditional ruler of Umuona, Igwe Sunday Ezejiofor among other dignitaries.

Commissioning of the 6 kilometres Umuchu-Amanasaa Road and the houses built in various communities, with presentation of N1million Naira cheques to the beneficiaries featured.
