ACDI which is established by Apple City Brothers Club of Nigeria for the sole purpose of providing charity visited the Blessed Nise Community Children’s Home while they also embarked on street feeding of the destitutes and indigents at the popular UNIZIK temporary site junction in Awka.
During the visit to the Nise Community based orphanage home, the ACDI donated tissues, detergents, soaps, noodles, beverages, drinks and other edibles to cater for the feeding need of the vulnerable children at the home.
Speaking to the staff and children of the Blessed Nise Orphanage Home domiciled in Awka South LGA of Anambra State, the Chairman of Apple City Brothers Club of Nigeria, Dr. Nestor Amahalu stated that the gesture was part of the association’s resolve to provide hope for orphans and vulnerable children, and also intervene on their behalf so they can live a promising future.
Dr. Amahalu averred that the gesture by the organization is not only done for orphanage homes but also extended to those at the hospitals and prisons especially in the period of the season that christians mark the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Amahalu said: “ACDI which is a charity arm of the Apple City Brothers Club of Nigeria is here today to give hope and offer support to those in the orphanage home as we know the plight of these children. This is part of extending our philanthropic role as before coming here, we had embarked on street feeding of the poor and destitutes.
“This is a period of sharing joy and we want the children here to partake of the celebration of the birth of Christ and the good things that happen with the birth of Christ, we want you to have a feel of love and to show you that there are people out there that really care about your well being,” Amahalu stated.
On his part, the coordinator of ACDI, Pastor Sunny Okafor said the visit is to celebrate the period of the year marking the birth of Christ for children without parents and the needy who do not have the wherewithal to do so. Pastor Okafor disclosed that the activity is a routine for the organization as it is usually an annual event while affirming that the celebration of the birth of Christ is about showing love to mankind as love conquers all things.
Also speaking, the Deputy Coordinator of ACDI, Evang. Chinedu Itama said the charity work is a routine for the foundation which has existed for over five years and has always reached out to people at the orphanage homes, prisons and hospitals by showing love in line with biblical injunction as stated in John Chapter 3 verse 16.
