Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) Awka in collaboration with Obi of Onitsha is set to commence a public lecture in honour of the Traditional Ruler of Onitsha, HRM Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe christened “HRM Obi Achebe Annual Public Lecture on Igbo Repository.”
The maiden HRM Obi Achebe Public Lecture on Igbo Repository aimed at showcasing Ndigbo, their rich cultural heritage, traditional values, igboness, Igbo history as well as the tribe’s ingenuity in every sphere of human endeavour will hold on Tuesday, 17th December 2024 by 10am at the ASUU Secretariat, UNIZIK.
The public lecture which will also feature Foundation Stone laying ceremony of the World Centre of Igbo Repository has its theme as: “Onitsha Traditional Society – Origin, Spread and Culture”, and will be chaired by His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, Executive Governor of Abia State while the Guest Lecturer is HRM Obi Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe, CFR, mni, Obi of Onitsha.
Chief Guest of Honour is His Excellency, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, Executive Governor of Anambra State while the Chief Host is Prof. Joseph Ifeanyichukwu Ikechebelu, Acting Vice-Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka.
Royal Father of the Day is Obi (Prof.) Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge, SAN, the 14th Asagba of Asaba. Host Royal Father of the Day is Obi Gibson Nwosu (Eze Uzu Awka), Traditional Ruler of Awka.
Special Guests of Honour are His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi, CON, Former Governor of Anambra State; His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, Executive Governor of Imo State; His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, Executive Governor of Ebonyi State; His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah, Executive Governor of Enugu State; Dame (Dr.) Adaora Umeoji, OON, Group Managing Director/CEO Zenith Bank PLC and Dr. Nneka Onyeali Ikpe, OON, Group Managing Director/CEO Fidelity Bank PLC.
