The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, PhD,’ has approved the draft content for the proposed National Conference on Skills Acquisition and Youth Empowerment, developed by the party’s Think Tank, The Progressive Institute, TPI in Abuja.

Dr. Ganduje’ was at TPI on Thursday where he spent hours discussing the proposed conference with the institute’s management.

The National Chairman who believes unemployment is a bane to peace and development had earlier in September unveiled and charged the Institute on the need for a conference to address youth unemployment which he describes as a catalyst to violence in Nigeria.

Subsequently, TPI gathered experts to research and develop world standard approach towards engaging Nigerian youths for productivity.

According to Wale Abideen, Head of Media and Strategic Communication TPI, the institute has designed a proposed three day conference, scheduled for December, 2024. Further details about the conference is expected to be made public in a couple of days.

TPI Director General, DG, Lanre Adebayo PhD hints of a robust deliberation and pragmatic analysis to the causes and solutions of youth unemployment in Nigeria.

Dr. Adebayo noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to declare the event open.
