The Senate Committee on Federal Character and Intergovernmental Affairs has passed a vote of confidence on the Federal Road Safety Corps for prudence, transparency and greater performance.

According to the Press Release signed by the Assistant Corps Marshal, Corps Public Education Officer, Mr Olusegun Ogungbemide, the unanimous decision was reached at the end of the oversight functions carried out by the Senate Committee on Wednesday 13 November, 2024 at the National Headquarters of the Corps in Abuja.

The Chairman of the Committee, Senator Allwell Onyesoh who gave the commendation on behalf of the Committee, stated that it was a general agreement by all Distinguished Members that the Corps has done well and deserving of Senate support for greater performance.

They commended the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed for an eloquent, smart and transparent presentation on 2024 budget performance of FRSC, stating that the Corps deserves a path at the back for a job well done.

In addition, the Corps was eulogised for having a disciplined workforce and high level of civility and professionalism that heralds its operations on the highways.

They further supported the need for improved budgetary allocation and better welfare for staff, while urging the Corps Marshal to ensure that the Corps improves on her performance and service delivery as a symbol of hope for the country

Expectedly, the Corps Marshal appreciated the administrative and legislative prowess of the Committee and the love they have shown for the unity of the country. He appreciated their support for road safety agenda in Nigeria, as well as the mission and vision of the Federal Road Safety Corps.

The Corps Marshal therefore pledged his commitment to enhancing the safety of lives and properties, as he assured the Committee that all hands are already on deck to ensure that Nigerian roads are safe for all.
