Ifeanyi Ekwueme TICO SELECT Rekindle NNL Hostilities As Kun Khalifat Tackle Apex Krane In Opener

The stage is set and the fire of hostilities set to begin at the sixth edition of Ifeanyi Ekwueme TICO/SELECT Preseason Football Tournament tagged “Abakaliki 2024”.

The tournament  powered by ex-international and Enyimba FC Sporting Director, Ifeanyi Ekwueme will begin today Friday August 23, 2024 at Camp David Estate Mini Stadium, Centenary City, Abakaliki, Before New Government House Ochudo City in Ebonyi State by 2pm.

In the opening encounter NNL side, perennial campaigners and Champions of the 4th edition, Apex Krane FC of Asaba will trade tackles with newly promoted NNL side from Owerri, Kun Khalifat FC.

Also today by 4pm in same venue, the defending champions of last season’s edition and runner up at the President Federation Cup, Abia Warriors FC of Umuahia will engage another another NNL side, Coal City FC of Enugu for the 3points.

Recall that 10 teams comprising NPFL, NNL and very notable NLO One sides will do battle for this year’s honours as they have been grouped into two with two teams qualifying at the end of the group games for the semis.

Other teams taking part in the tournament rated so high by many sports enthusiasts and football stakeholders include; Rangers Int’l FC of Enugu, Enyimba FC of Aba, Heartland FC of Owerri, Rivers United of Port Harcourt, Mathias FC of Ebony State and Excellent FC of Ebonyi with the tournament running from August 23 till August 31st 2024 ahead of the new NPFL season
