Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Imo Chapter has applauded the impressive performance of Kun Khalifat FC of Owerri who just secured qualification to the Nigeria National League.

Kun Khalifat owned by Michael Chukwudi Amaefula edged other teams to the sole ticket at the Nigeria Nationwide League One OISA Stadium, Ngor Okpala before defeating De-Sapele FC in the playoffs on penalties to pick the much coveted NNL ticket

SWAN, Imo in a congratulatory message sanctioned by its chairman, Cosmos Chukwuemeka through the Secretary, Tunde Liadi, thumbed up the resilience of Kun Khalifat FC for braving the odds to qualify for the second tier league in their second time of asking after going so closed the previous season but were undone by some controversial decisions.

The Sports Writers tasked the owner of the club, Amaefula not to relent in his effort of continuing to discover budding talents and giving them the platform to flourish and to attain their potential.

Chukwuemeka beckoned on Amaefula to work on seeking support from willing private sectors to ensure the club properly execute the 2024-25 NNL season and try to learn from the pitfalls of other clubs from the state who have progressed to the second tier league in the past but found it tough because of inadequate funding and structures.
