Team Aguata Local Government yesterday at the Awka City Stadium defeated Orumba South to advance to the quarter finals of the ongoing 2023 Brain Box League.

It was a rain of goals situation as the match produced eight goals with each half seeing four goals.

While poor defense but good striking force Aguata team did the scoring, Orumba South steadily equalized leaving the game  4-4  at the last whistle.

The match eventually ended 4-2 on penalties in favor of Aguata.

Speaking to Newspathfinder, coach of the Aguata team, Mr Neze Ezenwata commended his boys for achieving the quarter finals feat saying that the round of 16 game was a tough one.

He said the technical crew will work on the defense seriously to avoid conceding more goals as they prepare for the quarter finals encounter.

According to him, the striking force of the team is healthy and can sustain the dream of the team to be in the finals of the tournament.

Two remaining matches in the round of 16 will be played this weekend to set the stage for the quarter finals slated to begin from 15th to 23 July.
