Anambra School Sports: Eri Primary School Qualifies For LGA Stage

Eri Primary School Aguleri on Friday, 19th May 2023 defeated Central School Otuocha by two unreplied goals to emerge winners of the Male U-13 football event at the ongoing Anambra School Sports Festival.

The win for Eri Primary School earned them the bragging right to represent Anambra East at the LGA stage for the football event.

According to the Local Government Sports secretary and coordinator of the  festival for the local government, Bridget Onyekwe, a total of 12 schools registered for the event played at the Otuocha Township Stadium.

To get to this stage, Eri Primary School were drawn bye in the first round, they however defeated their opponent from Community Primary School Igboezunu Umueri by a lone goal in the quarter finals while decimating Enuobodo Community School Umueri by 12 goals to nil.

There are 10 sporting events featuring at the festival which includes Athletics, Basketball, Chess, Football, Scrabble, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball and Taekwondo while Cricket will serve as a demonstration sport.
