After firing blank against fellow premiership side, Akwa United in a pre-season friendly encounter, a day earlier,  Rangers International F.C found their scoring range against Anambra state league side, Lifelight F.C.

The Flying Antelopes bashed the amateur side 6-1 in a practice match inside Awka City Stadium, Sunday, in continuation of their close camping exercise.

Coach Abdul Maikaba’s match day squad had Nana Bonsu between the sticks with Sani Shehu and Jacob John as wing-backs just as Ebuka Anthony and Olawale Doyeni took charge of the heart of defense.

Saidu Adamu, Okorie Chukwuebuka and Eso Achibong were detailed in the middle of the pack with Bala Reuben and Michael Ibeh supporting Elijah Ani in the attack.

Goals from Ebuka Anthony, Elijah Ani, and Okorie Chukwuebuka who got a brace in the 7th, 11th, 15th, and 37th minutes of the play set the game on a good start for the Enugu side before Okolo Pope pulled one back for the Awka based side on 40 minutes.

The second half proved more difficult as the young boys from Awka grew in confidence to challenge for all balls but it was not enough to stop Michael Ibeh from stabbing home in the 55th minute a well-worked team goal while substitute, Stephen Chukwude dribbled past the opponent’s goalkeeper and passed into an empty net on 73 minutes of play.

There were cameo appearances for the recuperating duo of Samuel Pam and Ugochukwu Ugwuoke and they showed flashes of what they are known for.
