The Inspector General of Police , Mr Alkali Usman says policing is all about service to the people.

Mr Alkali stated this in Awka , Anambra state during the decoration of newly promoted police officers at the command headquarters Awka.

Represented by the Commissioner of Police in Anambra state , Mr Echeng Echeng, the Inspector General of Police said promotion comes with responsibilities which the new officers must embrace diligently.

Mr Alkali Usman charged them to see their new rank as a call to serve the public at all times and so they must strive to perform well.

He however stated that anyone found wanting will not be tolerated as the Inspector General of Police expects the best from them .

However the Commissioner of Police in Anambra state, Mr Echeng- Echeng has commended the IGP for keeping his promises including the promotion of officers that are due for recognition.

The newly promoted officers were decorated following the recommendations by the IGP as well as the Police Service Commission and approval by President Muhamadu Bihari.
