The Nigeria Women Football League Club Owners Association (NWFLCOA) has sent her warmest congratulations to the high-flying Nigerian champions, Bayelsa Queens on their heartwarming victories at the CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU B’ zonal play-off in Yammosoukro, Ivory Coast.

The Nigerian torchbearers defeated their Ghanaian counterparts, Ampem Darkoa Ladies 3-0 in the final on Saturday at the Stade du Yammosoukro.

Enroute to the final the coach Domo Okara tutored side whipped hapless Benin Republic side, Espoire Ladies 6-0 while the Ghanaian side outscored the hosts, AS D’ Abidjan 6-5 on penalties after full time scores stood at one goal apiece.

The hard-fought victory ensured that the Yenagoa-based side will fly the seven-country sub-regional zone’s flag at the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League (CAFWCL) in the North African state, Morocco in October.

Bayelsa Queens become the second team from Nigeria to successfully campaign at the CAFWCL after multiple champions, Rivers Angels achieved the enviable feat at the maiden edition in Egypt.

NWFLCOA is confident that the nation’s torchbearers will take their winning performances to Morocco aimed at becoming the first Nigerian and sub-regional representatives to win the coveted trophy
