The New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP), through its acting Deputy National Chairman,Chief Felix Chukwurah, has disclosed that peace, equity and progress are the strong pillars of which NNPP was founded.

Chief Chukwurah, while addressing the press during the NNPP Southeast Conference, which was held recently in Awka, commended Dr Boniface Aniebonam over his dedication to the party, which he said, he founded and funded over two years ago with the priority of rendering services that will bring peace and good leadership to the country and not war or conflict.

He said, “the conference is a platform of introduction of the newly appointed acting state chairman to the zonal authority, addressing the challenges faced by NNPP and to assure the Southeast members of the party that the old NNPP structure is intact as the strange entrants who joined the party with evil intention of wrestling the party have failed.

Chief Chukwurah emphasised that “our party, NNPP is not immune to party quagmires but the peculiarity in our circumstances is worth dealing with decisively to resist the obvious. We have situation where the party constitution was grossly violated and abandoned for a fresh one under the guise of amendment by some recent entrants in the party, to enable them perfect a hijack of the party which was founded and nutured 22 years ago by Dr Boniface Aniebonam, supported by some other pioneer members”.

According to him, the party is undergoing some crises caused by some prominent individuals in the country, adding that the party aimed to address internal issues and strengthen its position in Nigerian politics as it prepares for upcoming elections.

He also emphatically stated that the party would win the forthcoming gubernatorial elections in Imo and Anambra States.

He commended the efforts of the NWC members, led by Dr. Agbo Major, in maintaining the party’s grassroots support and expanding its presence nationally.

He disclosed that the National Working Committee (NWC) was swallowed and manipulated by few new persons, mentioning the former governor of Kano State and Minister of Defence, Mohammed Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso and the rest of his team that marshal the NWC members to meetings in their private houses for easy access and control of selfish and unpopular decisions to ruin the party image.

Chief Chukwurah passed a message of assurance to the members of the party in solidarity with the founders of the NNPP, to keep faith alive so as to continue with their endeavour in doing the good work for which the party is known.

Acting Anambra State NNPP Chairman, Igweamaka Orajuba and his counterpart from Ebonyi, Hon Ozeogu Stephen described the founder of the party, Dr Boniface Aniebonam as God sent to the whole world, a rare gift to humanity, kind, humble and a brave man.

They stated that the party in Southeast must move forward for peace not for war, urging the party members to see this period as the time for more work to improve the credibility of NNPP.

Major highlight of the event was when te party members passed a vote of no confidence to Mohammed Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, with the motion moved by the Acting State Chairman, Abia State NNPP, Prince Kelechi Apugo and Chuba Nwadiogbu, Acting Enugu State Chairman, NNPP.

The party also passed a vote of reaffairmation of the dissolution of Kawu Ali led NWC and expulsion of Kwankwaso and Kwankwasia Support Group, which was moved by Hon Ozeogu Stephen, Ating Ebonyi State Chairman of NNPP and Hon Nnani Nnaemeka Emmanuel, Acting State Publicity Secretary, Imo State.
