UNIZIK Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Charles Esimone, on Tuesday arrived Kigali, the Capital of Rwanda for an all important meeting and interface with the Management of International Computer Driving License (ICDL Africa).

The trip by the Chief Executive of the institution is aimed at formalizing a partnership deal between UNIZIK and ICDL Africa as well as inking a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will empower the association to setup Accredited Test Center (ATC) at UNIZIK.

According to Dr. Emmanuel Ojukwu, Special Adviser to the Vice-Chancellor on Media and Publicity, the centre when set up will enable the University’s transformation agenda of the Vice-Chancellor with his vision for ‘Project 200’ for digital literacy and ICT skills for the 21st century workplace to be complete.

In a Press Release made available to the media, which reads: “The Vice-Chancellor will be attending ICDL Africa Forum on 25th October 2023 at Kigali, Rwanda to discuss Digital Literacy for all: Tackling Challenges and Overcoming Barriers in Africa.

“This will reposition the University’s teaching, non-teaching staff and undergraduates/ Postgraduates for a productive workforce by the Proficient use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) that empowers individuals, organizations and society, through the development, promotion, and delivery of quality certification programmes at the Unizik ATC,” it read.
